-The Yellow Flame and Runnymede-

View over Magna Carta Island towards Runnymede with Air Forces Memorial at left on horizon.

I think when i got that 1 special day,and i got seriously nothing better to do like those government employee you can see everyday in their office, while you spent 1 hour waiting your number to be called and they are busy eating kuih, drinking teh tarik and kepo-ing~I think will take a trip to Ipoh and visit the famous Yellow Flame, before those cilaka chop it down. Its a place where a meeting took place under it, because the Perak state assembly's MP was not allowed to enter their office by our mata that stand right infront of the building's gate. (police). -i know it sounds funny, but it really happened.-

In the history of Malaysia, i think this is the first time where state assembly call out for a meeting under the big nice shady tree, come and think about it, aint the scene romantic if its not about political dispute among those parties? hehehe~i'm just kidding.Ok...like usual meetings, the MP's voted that they going to dismiss the state assembly and have a re election and etc etc. (which i think most probaly wont happen)

So on march 8th, the PKR decided to commemorates their great victory when they gain control on 5 states from the election that they won a year ago by building a plaque under the tree.As you can see from my previous blog,it was removed. Actually,it was vandalized by unknown people days before it was destroyed and removed.

This incident reminds me of what happened 800 hundred years ago in Runnymede. Runnymede is a water-meadow alongside the River Thames in the English county of Surrey, just over 20miles west of central London.

At that period of time, England was under the control of King John. But after he was crowned in the early 13th century, a series of failures at home and abroad, combined with perceived abuses of the king's power, led the English barons to revolt and attempt to restrain what the king could legally do.

By 1215, some of the barons had had enough and decided to entered London in force,it end up the King John agree to the "Articles of the Barons", to which his Great Seal was attached in the meadow at Runnymede on 15 June 1215.

A formal document to record the agreement was created by the royal chancery, this was the original Magna Carta. For people that dont know what is Magna Carta, here's some lil information. Magna Carta was so called the document that influenced the development of the common law and it led to the rule of constitutional law, which means basically the laws we are having now, are partly from there.

Lets bring it back to incidents that happened on March 15th, 2009,a plaque was destroyed because they claimed "itu benda takde permit, halang itu olang mau guna punya jalan raya" ???? WTH??? @@??? aint it just sumthing small under a freakin tree?! Might as well the people of King John claim that the Magna Carta was not recognized by the common law and because they was no common law yet?? KEpala semua masuk air punya goblok..ZZ!!

Sir Edwin Lutyens was commissioned to design a memorial to Broughton consisting of the kiosks and piers at the Egham end with lodges and piers at the Windsor end.

These is one of the piers :
.
It Says :

"In these Meads on 15th June 1215 King John at the instance of Deputies from the whole community of the Realm granted the Great Charter the earliest of constitutional documents whereunder ancient and cherished customs were confirmed abuses redressed and the administration of justice facilitated new provisions formulated for the preservation of peace and every individual perpetually secured in the free enjoyment of his life and property."
